About

I’m an interdisciplinary scholar and researcher whose work focuses on the political and social implications of new media and technology. I’m interested in the way publics are made and unmade through the many disparate channels of social media, and I’m forever delighted and terrified by the role of meme images—the visual culture of the internet—in this process. My experiences span many different areas of media production and analysis, from documentary film production to digital journalism, all if which inform my perspective and scholarship.

As a Mellon Foundation Digital Humanities Fellow, I was able to forward my own work while studying Digital Humanities concepts and methodologies, and to work on faculty and community led projects at the University of Rochester, the city, and region.
